"Cheats," an alias he will insist says nothing about his personal integrity, has no small amount of improper and mischievous vices, including but not limited to gambling, drinking, smoking, and lying. All of which help dull the hyperactive anxieties of a former war medic that seems to be beset with paranoia.He possesses uncanny luck when it comes to games of chance, enough that he's banned from numerous gambling halls, but that hasn't stopped him from also racking up plenty of debts and losses. As a former combat chirugeon, Cheats now uses those abilities to serve as a back-alley doctor when needed, mostly to fund his addictions, but he's known to be open to work for favors or trades, so long as you don't mind receiving aid from someone who looks like a scraggly drifter.Cheats is chatty and easygoing, but hard to get to truly know. His past is a mystery, and he's never seen without his peculiar helm, or without ten layers of clothing. Questions about himself will usually get deflected or redirected back to the asker. He is unusually adverse to combat or anything dangerous, and will quickly profess to being a complete coward. A shame, then, that he's so extremely bullyable.This strange man hides a secret, and I provide a spoiler warning for those wanting to make sure they wish to engage.

Cheats frequents many bars, fight clubs, casinos, and parties. It's easy to have shared a drink or a smoke with him at some point, and even easier to just bump into him. On some nights, he runs a backalley clinic in Ishgard. 「G A M B L I N G . F I X A T I O N」
Cheats gets around the scene and has made off with a fair amount of potentially unfair winnings. He's not above utilizing his unfair advantage in games, and has made plenty of enemies doing so. He could have made an enemy of you, or someone who hired you to get their money back. Or perhaps you want a partner in crime... 「C E R T I F I E D . M E D I C A L . Despite his bedraggled appearance and informal conduct, Cheats is a capable medic and surgeon. Equipped with mysteriously advanced medical knowledge and tools for a man who could be confused with a vagrant, he is capable of doing precise and advanced procedures. He is wont to help even strangers in need and provide aid to those who can't normally afford it, and may have developed a small reputation in certain circles for it. 「U N C A N N Y . M A R K S M A N」
Few know of his skill as a marksman, and that is by design. When forced into situations where he cannot avoid combat, Cheats favors the sniper's perch, and has developed a small reputation among some mercenary groups as having uncanny aim. He has bounced between many merc companies and pirate crews in his life, and may be known from this time, but if asked to reprise his marksman days, he will usually find every excuse possible to wiggle out of it. 「A R T I F I C I A L . Cheats is never seen without his 'helmet,' going so far as having an opening through which he drinks and smokes. He will claim that he cannot breathe without it, and then take a deep drag from his cigarette. He also has a good many prosthetic implants— gifts from his time in war, he will say, but which limbs and which wars are prone to changing with each telling, and he will not undress around others in any circumstances.
